History: Named after G.D. Edwards, a surveyor whose nickname was ‘Bunda’. There were two versions of the origin of his nickname. The first was that it was a tribal name bestowed upon him when he lived among Aborigines in the Burnett district after being shipwrecked. The other is that he originally came from Bundaberg and was known as Bunda amongst his associates.
